Each year, the Calgary Dental Assistant’s Association (CDAA) presents one dental assisting student from the Calgary area with the Florence E. Downey award. This year, our Risio student, Kay-Cee L., was presented with this prestigious award! All of us at Risio Institute are so proud of Kay-Cee! The Florence E. Downey award is given to the most improved student based on non-academic criteria.
Kay-Cee’s instructors and the leadership team described Kay-Cee as having the qualities that make an exemplary dental assistant! In addition, Kay-Cee displayed a kind and giving nature with her classmates, adding an element of mentorship with her peers. Kay-Cee was confident in the clinical modules and offered her patients a sense of calmness, while practicing her skills in a safe and efficient manner.
We were so excited to hear that Kay-Cee was chosen to receive this award. It is not only a huge milestone for Kay-Cee, but also for Risio Institute, as Kay-Cee is our FIRST student to receive this award! Our team at Risio Institute is comprised of educated, caring and dedicated professionals who strive to see our students succeed and achieve their goals. Kay-Cee will be a great addition to every team she graces with her knowledge and presence over the course of her career in dental assisting! CONGRATULATIONS, Kay-Cee!
